I do this thing where I suppress the stress that I’m dealing with to the back of my mind. I try to forget about certain stressors in my life and think that if I ignore them, they’ll somehow just go away. Well, that’s usually never the case. You’d think I have learned by now. When I carry around stress on my shoulders, it causes me to be anything but at ease with myself and my situations. It gets heavy and awkward, and sometimes I become more stressed because I’m upset that I’m stressed in the first place. Does anyone know what I mean?
It’s so easy to be distracted by the stresses that life naturally brings to us. But the next time we feel a great amount of stress looming over us, let us lift our eyes to the One who wants us to rest in His peace, rather than wallow in the mess. Other methods such as using CBD Oil can also be quite effective.
God grants us peace. In fact, He freely gives it to us.
Isn’t that amazing? Amidst all of the troubles and heartaches we battle, He is always there waiting for us to relax and lean into His everlasting peace. He is there waiting for us to surrender each need, worry and fear into His hands. God is waiting for us to completely release every stress over to Him, so that we can experience true rest and real peace, in Him.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” — John 14:27
God tells us to not let our hearts be troubled or afraid, because He is already extending peace to us. The peace that God gives us surpasses anything the world could ever forge as “peace”. His peace is so much greater and much more satisfying.
God is sovereign and mighty. He is beyond capable of taking care of every need and every stress that we have. Even with knowing this, it is hard for us humans to just let go and let God handle it. If we learn to submit our situations over to God before they become stresses, we’ll be able to breathe in His peace, all the more sooner.
Let’s let our whole beings delight in the abundant peace that the Lord is always extending to us.
Let’s look to the Lord in our time of need and rest.
He gives us peace, for He is our peace.
