How was everyone’s Easter? I hope to hear that it was full of joy and celebration of our risen King!
Last week in my most recent CWS Happenings post, I had shared that I had a very busy Easter week ahead of me. Well, it’s officially over! It was a very busy and draining week, but overall, it was even more rewarding.
Here are some photos from my awesome week!
At PennDel’s District Fine Arts, my little dancing mini-me named Autumn made it on to Nationals Fine Arts for her worship dance solo. I am so proud of her and am honored to be her coach. We are looking forward to choreographing a brand new piece! It gives me such joy being able to be a coach and a dance judge. I never would have thought that I’d be using my gifts in this way, but I am so glad to be, and even more so, humbled to be.
We three ladies got to head up the social media accounts for the PennDel Youth Convention. I was on the Twitter. I love social media, especially when it can be used to glorify God. God can use anything for good and that’s just plain awesome. It was also awesome that we were with all of the cool kids and got all access passes. Truly grateful for such an amazing experience!
This year’s youth convention theme was “Remnant”. It was centered around the truth that God is enough for us and that He will continue to always be enough for us. We are the remnant.
The top photo was taken during the Friday morning candlelight service, which is always a highlight of convention that everyone looks forward to each year. It is so powerful to see all of the candles lit up all across the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It give you chills just watching the lights grow brighter and brighter.
“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” – Ephesians 5:8
The worship team for convention this year was from JRLC and they did an absolute fantastic job. Their hearts for worship unto God were so clear and evident and truly blessed everyone there.
The production team was a media team from the University of Valley Forge (where I attend college). One of the greatest things about Valley Forge is the Digital Media department, because they prepare professionals in all areas of media. Once again, they have done a wonderful job producing convention.
One of my personal highlights at convention was the Fine Arts awards ceremony. As a judge, I was able to give the students continuing on to Nationals their medals. It was a surreal and powerful experience for me. It meant more than I can put into words.
Michael has served on the production team for the past few years of convention, but this year he decided that he wanted to go with our church’s youth group and bond with the youth more. He has been growing so much since the beginning of this year, and it makes my heart so happy seeing him invest into the lives of youth!
I love being able to do ministry with my husband-to-be. He was on piano for the Easter services and I was a dancer in the opening number. We love being able to honor God with the gifts He’s given us.
During Saturday night’s practice, my friend Cassie captured these two photos of Autumn and I practicing the opener. It was a silhouette dance and it turned out really well. I can’t wait to watch the video of it.
My church is really cool and every Easter they bring baby ducks, chicks and bunnies into the lobby for the services. Aren’t they adorable?! I wanted to keep them!
The rest of Michael and I’s Easter was spent relaxing and just being with each other. With the craziness of classes, work, wedding planning and everything else life seems to throw at us, it can be hard to just relax and hand out with each other. Definitely grateful to have spent time with my man.
How was your Easter? Do you have any traditions or a special treat you like each year? Tell me all about it in the comments!
