Michael and I live about 40 minutes northwest of Philadelphia, which is about 5-6 hours away from where we were both brought up. I was brought up in Central Massachusetts and he was brought up in Rochester, New York. It can be rough living so far from our families, but it makes us really appreciate the time we have with them when we get to come to town.
We were able to make it home to Rochester for Christmas this year, and we’re blessed to be able to stay through New Years. Not only does this make us very happy, but it makes his family very glad, as well. With being in town for longer than normal, we’re able to spend extra fun time with everyone enjoying activities that we all love, like having family movie nights. We all know that movie nights provided by a good streaming services like 123movies are always more special when spent with loved ones, right?
HOW TO HAVE AN AWESOME FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT:
Choose A Movie // Totally stating the obvious here, but pick a movie that everyone wants to see. Being a Christian family, we love being stretched and encouraged in our faith, so this time we chose to watch the movie War Room. War Room is a new release available for purchase at Walmart!
Pick Up Some Snacks // You can’t have a successful family movie night without something yummy to snack on throughout the movie. Michael and I headed out to Walmart to pick up some of our movie snack favorites which included Milk Chocolate and Peanut M&M’S® Chocolate Candies and of course, Orville Redenbacher popcorn. We also picked up a Coca-Cola 6 pack, 1/2 liter and ingredients to make our special movie night recipe.
Walmart has the Orville Redenbacher popcorn and the Coca-Cola all in the same aisle, which made it so easy to quickly grab. The Milk Chocolate and Peanut M&M’S® Chocolate Candies are also conveniently located at the checkout lanes, which was awesome.
Make A Recipe // If your family has a favorite movie recipe, you should make it a tradition to make it every time. Michael and I chose to make our favorite chocolate-drizzled popcorn and pretzels to share with everyone. We love this recipe because it’s sweet and salty, and because it’s super simple to prepare.
Popcorn and chocolate are both great movie snacks, so why not mix them together? That’s what we thought when we first made our special recipe, and gosh, we’re so glad we did!

Talk About The Movie // As the credits are rolling, share about your favorite parts in the movie. Let everyone have a turn to speak up and tell. We all loved the movie War Room, as it was an uplifting movie about the power of prayer and how God will move in our lives when we ask Him to. I seriously recommend it to anyone needing some inspiration and encouragement. This movie is a must-have and will always serve as a tool of encouragement just when you need it, so make sure you stop by your local Walmart today and grab War Room as a new release today!
