Back when I was in college, I always needed to gear up on study essentials for when it came time to have midterms or finals week. Midterms and finals weeks can basically be some of the most exhausting weeks you’ll experience when in college. From information overload, to lack of sleep, to not necessarily eating healthy – studying for these exams can be completely draining, both physically and mentally.
I always loved when I would receive a care package from family or friends back home in Massachusetts. These care packages wouldn’t only cheer me up and make me feel special, but they’d also help me prepare for my exams and rest well afterwards. While I am not in college anymore, I still have quite a few friends who still are and they’re close by, too. This year I wanted to put together a “Study Hard, Rest Well” gift basket for one of my college friends.
The awesome thing about the “Study Hard, Rest Well” gift basket is that it serves two purposes that every college student needs – the essentials to focus and the treats to rest after exams are finished.
Do you want to know how I decided on the items to put into this gift basket and how I made it all pretty? Let me share with you!
When I first thought of my idea, I wanted to make sure that everything I put into this basket was intentional. I didn’t want to put together a gift basket of things my friend wouldn’t use. I wanted to make sure each item had a specific use and would be put to use!
THESE ARE THE ITEMS I CHOSE:
Wire Trash Bucket // Since my gift basket is themed for a college student, I figured that a cute wire trash bucket would be the perfect “basket” to hold all of the goodies.
Weekly Notepad & Sticky Notes // Exam weeks are flooded with important meetings and exam times, so it’s important to have extra notepads around to jot things down.
Fancy Pen & Paper Clips // You can never have enough pen or pencils, but it’s key to have a nice fancy pen for the important details in your study notes. Paper clips are a tiny things that can be overlooked, but they’re key to organization.
Healthy Snacks // While apples and clementines are great, I wanted to include healthy snack items that aren’t perishable. I chose granola bars and fruit strips.
Candy & Gum // Candy for the times when you need a sugar rush and gum to help keep you concentrated (and for fresh breath).
Tissues // For the tears of frustration and relief.
Coffee // This one is pretty self-explanatory, right?
Coffee Creamer // Every cup of coffee needs a delicious creamer, amen? NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Chocolate Boutique creamers have won over my heart just recently. My friend is a chocolate lover, so I just had to include these.
Notes Of Encouragement // Notes of encouragement can be so impactful for a college student. I included two – one for when studying gets discouraging and one for when the exams are over.
Comfy Socks // To comfort you and keep your feet nice and cozy, whether you’re in the dorm room, library, or computer lab.
HOW TO PUT TOGETHER YOUR GIFT BASKET:
First, you’ll need to make sure that you have everything you need on hand: gift items, gift basket, tissue paper, and a label.
Then, you can get started putting some tissue paper at the bottom of the basket. This helps to fluff everything up and makes it easier to display all of the gift items.
After you’re finished with your foundation, you can then start to arrange your gift items. This may take a couple of tries to figure out what the best way to display all of the items is. Have fun with it!
If your gift basket calls for a label, write on it and sneak it into place!
I have been hooked on NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Chocolate Boutique creamers, ever since I picked some up at Walmart the other week. This Chocolate Boutique line consists of three indulgent flavors – Salted Caramel Chocolate, Cafe Mocha, and Chocolate Toffee Truffle. Chocolate Toffee Truffle is my personal favorite, but each flavor is simply decadent.
Are you darting out to Walmart to grab these right now? Wait just one second! I have a special Ibotta offer for you!
