It’s finally time to go all in for the celebration of the holiday season that’s upon us. I love the holiday season – it never ceases to inspire me and make me feel immensely grateful for the life I have. From the Christmas music, to light snow falls, to Christmas lights… I love it all. The energy of this time of year is moving to me and that’s something I’m never going to take for granted.
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to go to Six Flags Great Adventure’s Holiday in the Park event for their media day. Michael and I took our friends Chris and Kristen along with us to enjoy the celebration. It was my first time ever going to a Holiday in the Park event and I have to say, it was a beautiful time!
Holiday in the Park runs on the weekends – November until Monday, January 1st. This gives you plenty of time to schedule your family outing or day/night out with friends in a vibrant, holiday atmosphere.
The lighting was definitely one of my most favorite parts of the event. The park was covered by enchanting Christmas lights and it was truly breath-taking. Poinsettia Park, Merry Marketplace, and the Peppermint Path were some of the best highlights for me.
We took a ride on the Big Wheel when we first arrived. The view from the top was absolutely stunning! I always love being able to look at the park from high above on rides, but this was immensely more special with the park all lit up for the holiday season.
During Holiday in the Park, there are tons of different attractions that are friendly for everyone. Toyland Express, Whimsical Wonderland, North Pole Village, and Holiday Heroes are just a few of the many – perfect for the kids!
There are plenty of things to do for the adults, too! In addition to a great walk around the park, there are different shows, like Spirit of the Season: A Holiday Celebration that you can go see. There are also fire pits around the park to warm up or to make a s’more or two.
Did I mention that there’s something new this year that the adults are sure to love? Yuletide Brews! Yuletide Brews is where you can grab a sip of some seasonal beers or a spiked hot chocolate. Perfect, right?
During Holiday in the Park, there are plenty of rides open to enjoy. The Joker, Nitro, and Buccaneer are just a few to name. They’re thrills for sure – imagine how much more of a thrill they are when it’s chilly out. They’re a chill, but so worth it! 😉
One highlight that everyone is sure to love are the many photo opportunities there are throughout the park. There are “photo booths” around the park and then there are simply gorgeous places you can’t not take a photo at. This photo of Michael and I was at Poinsettia Park. Isn’t this Christmas tree stunning? I was very happy that my outfit matched it, haha!
The Boardwalk was all decorated for the holidays and the amount of lights there were in this area was incredible! The coolest part of this area was that most of the prizes for the games were holiday themed, like stuffed animal reindeer.
