CWS fam! The day is finally here… meet Taya Joy, my beautiful daughter. Oh my heart, Michael and I are so in love with our girl. Taya was born on February 21st at 8:39 am. She’s a little peanut! She weighed 5lbs 15oz and was 19/25 inches when she came into the world. Right now, she has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes like her mama. š She is just absolute perfection. We are so grateful to God!
My family is adjusting well to our new life. My mother-in-law was so kind to stay with us the first week to help with the transition – such a huge blessing! I can 100% say that having her with us helped ease us into the transition perfectly.
Taya is healthy and is such a content little babe. She latched right away and so far, nursing is going really well. I’m extremely grateful that it’s working out so far because breastfeeding is something I’ve always wanted to be able to do. She just had her weight check doctor’s appointment earlier this week and she’s already 6lbs 7oz! Growing already. š
I am recovering well! I have had absolutely no pain down below which is actually very surprising to everyone I’ve told. I’m totally not taking it for granted! I have had some backaches and some knee/leg discomfort from the birth process but all is getting much better with time.
Taya’s birth was pretty much nothing I had planned but God is good and faithful in all things. I’m thankful that Mike and I are both in tune with the Lord’s leading and that we’re able to discern what we need to, especially in times of chaos.
The first 12 hours of labor were incredibly empowering and her delivery was beautiful. Really, there are no words. The hour before I started pushing was quite traumatic and filled with complications. I’m still processing it all, especially since there were complications that I wasn’t aware of during the process. But, praise be to God, Taya and I are both healthy and safe.
I’ll eventually write up her birth story but I’m giving myself the time and the respect to process it all first.
HER NAME:
Michael and I chose to keep Taya’s name a secret until she arrived and we’re so glad that we did. It was special to have that part be just for us (and family). Before we were even married years ago, we already had the name Taya chosen for if we had a daughter one day. Mike was actually the one who came up with it! Her name has various meanings but the one we cling to and declare is… “perfectly formed.” We chose “Joy” as her middle name because she has brought us just that… joy, delight, excitement!
We are just completely overjoyed with our little Taya! Her nursery reveal will be up here within the next couple of weeks. I’m looking forward to sharing more soon. Until then, be sure to follow me on Instagram because I’m sharing a ton on IG Stories of life with my sweet Taya! Follow me on Instagram HERE (@summertelban)!
So much love,
