I am beyond excited to share one of my favorite makeup looks with you all today! I have said it before and I’ll say it again – I love makeup! I love makeup because it can enhance and add to what’s already beautiful. I wear makeup because it makes me feel more confident and like myself, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If you wear makeup for the same reasons, don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. Rock out your makeup looks!
I would say my overall style is very casual, since I aim to be on the edge of keeping a minimalist, but boho touch on my style. This carries over to my makeup looks, too. While I love makeup, I’m not too adventurous in trying out new looks so I tend to stick to the same kind of color palette and feel. Today I am going to be sharing my blush makeup tutorial with you all and I hope you enjoy it!
This blush look is perfect for summertime as it helps brighten up your eyes and entire face. It’s never too much and is just enough. From blush eyeshadow hues to pink lips, it should be every girl’s go-to summertime look.
To complete my blush makeup look, I can always rely on Rimmel London’s products to get the job done. Rimmel London has always been my go-to drugstore makeup brand and always will be. I have never once been let down by them, and that’s huge!
To start my makeup look, I first use the Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer. This primer is pretty much my holy grail primer, as it is ultra lightweight and minimizes the appearance of pores. In the summertime my skin can get oily and shiny easily, but the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer controls shine for up to 8 hours while creating a soft, perfectly matte complexion. After applying a small amount of primer to my skin, I then use the Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation in the shade “ivory”. I just apply a small pea size amount and blend it evenly into my skin by using my finger tips. This feather-light, liquid mousse blends flawlessly leaving me with a never greasy, natural-looking finish. This foundation also helps minimize the appearance of pores and is oil free.
After creating the perfect foundation canvas, I start on my eyes. I use my favorite blush palette with a medium blush, mauve, and light blush to complete my eye look. First, I take my brush and apply the medium blush to my entire eyelid, making sure that the color is even and crisp. Then I take the mauve color and use that in the crease of my eyelid, and I take it a little higher in addition to that, since I don’t have much eye room to work with. I make sure that the mauve color is pretty dark so that it gives my eyes more dimension to them, and then I blend it evenly into the medium blush eyelid color.
After perfecting the first two eyeshadow shades, I top it off with a very light blush to go at the top of my eye, right underneath the eyebrow. This shade helps reduce the mauve from looking harsh and also acts as a highlight, giving my eyes a more complete dimension look.
After my eyeshadow has set, I gently pencil on my eyeliner onto the top of my eyelid. I use a medium brown shade to easily complete the overall eye look.
For my mascara, I use the new Rimmel SuperCurler Mascara which helps give me volume and length with ease. It’s basically a revolution in lash curling – mascara and lash curler in one! The eye-shaped curved brush is my favorite feature, as it hugs each and every lash from root to tip to build full body, curvaceous volume. As a lady who has very short lashes with no volume, this mascara never lets me down! The breakthrough curling & fixing polymers will instantly push up lashes to a perfect curve that stays put for up to 24 hours. It’s just plain genius.
After finishing up my eyes, I then use a light bronzer to contour my cheeks and a pretty pink blush to help give my face a more rosy natural look. I then use a setting spray or a setting powder to help keep my face even more flawless throughout the day.
Now for the fun part! Lips! I have been loving all of the summertime lips colors already, especially since I naturally flock to blushes and light reds. Rimmel Provocalips are some of my current favorite lip shades. The shade I use for my blush makeup look is “430 Wish Upon A Berry”, as it’s the perfect natural pink. Rimmel Provocalips is a 16HR kiss proof, transfer proof, food proof lip color. The first time I rocked this shade, I popped it on my lips and it lasted the entire day, even with eating and drinking. I was even able to give my husband some kisses, and he loved the fact that the color didn’t transfer over to his lips. Seriously, this is a game changer for us!
Don’t you hate when lip formulas dry out your lips? Me too! Other than the transfer proof perk to this formula, my next favorite feature is that it keeps your lips feeling smooth and moisturized all day. This is so important to me, especially in the summertime! The Rimmel Provocalips formula has two easy steps! Step #1: Apply the colored end to your lips and keep lips apart for 60 seconds until the product has set. Step #2: Apply the clear topcoat on the other end to lock in the color and moisture, and to add just the right amount of shine.
I grabbed all of my amazing Rimmel London products at Walmart in the beauty section. You can’t miss the display, it’s bold red! Make sure you take advantage of the Ibotta offer for great savings on Rimmel London products! Get $1.00 cash back on the foundation and face powder, and $1.50 cash back on the primer!
And that’s my blush makeup London look that’s perfect for the summertime! I pretty much wear this at least 4 days out of the week, because it’s effortlessly pretty and natural, and is a quick routine.
What’s your favorite go-to summertime look? Is it a daytime look like mine? Or more of a bold nighttime look? Let’s get to chatting, ladies!
