I have been blogging on and off for years but started blogging seriously about a year and a half ago. Over my years of experiencing and feeling out what’s been best for me and what works in the blogging world, I have come up with some surefire tips to help any blogging beginner get on the path towards success.
I’m going to be real with you all and let you know that there is an endless list of technical need-to-knows when you decide to get serious about blogging. I am definitely going to touch on those at a later time, but for today I want to focus on the foundation.
The foundation of any project or plan in life is the most important part because it sets you up for the direction in which you will go. Without a proper foundation, your plans will most likely not succeed. You’re totally capable of preparing yourself for success. The key thing you need to remember is that wanting success is one thing, but working for it is a whole other story. Work for that story!
THE BEST TIPS FOR BLOGGING BEGINNERS:
Create Your Mission //
Creating your mission for blogging is often times the easiest thing you can do. Look at your passions. What are you most passionate about? Can you write consistently on those topics? Can your mission be intertwined into each topic you plan to write about? You want your mission to be standout to your readers. If your readers aren’t quite sure what your purpose is for your blog, you might end up forgetting what your purpose for your blog is. If you don’t go all in when you choose your blog’s mission, you might as well forget about connecting with your ideal audience. I know that sounds a bit harsh, but it’s the truth. Your readers will best connect with you when it’s evident that you’re secure in your mission.

Invest In A Clean & Crisp Design //
Investing in a clean and crisp design that reflects your personality and voice is something you should never neglect to do. In order to invite others into your space, you have to have a clean design that isn’t too busy and that, most importantly, reflects who you truly are. Don’t be afraid to get inspiration from blogs you enjoy reading or even off of Pinterest. And please know that you don’t have to spend hundreds on a design! One of my favorite places to shop for blog designs is on Etsy because they have something for everyone.

Establish Your Social Media Presence //
Establishing your social media presence is one of the MOST important things you could ever do for your blog. In today’s day in age, your blog will not grow without the use of a built-up social media presence. Even if you don’t want to use every social media platform right away, you need to snag your handles so that they can all be the same. With having the same name (handles) on every social media platform, your branding is all the more elevated and easier to recognize. Developing a social media strategy that works for you can take time and even shift from time to time, but it’s important to build one. Social media is one of the greatest forms of connecting with one another nowadays, so cultivate that tool to help your blog and overall mission grow.

Connect & Network With Other Bloggers //
Connecting with other bloggers is so crucial in forming community in the blogging world. While it’s important to focus on growing community in your readership, it’s just as important to grow in relationships with fellow bloggers. When you have a community of bloggers to turn to, you can all support each other, ask questions, and even collaborate together. Bloggers need other bloggers! If I didn’t get connected when I got serious about blogging, I know I would not be where I am today with my blog.

Believe In Yourself & Keep Your Heart In Check //
Please don’t take me as being cheesy here, but seriously – believe in yourself. When you believe in yourself, nothing can hold you back or tear you down. If you believe in your voice and in all that you have to say, you’ll stand out and inspire others. There are no limitations on what you can accomplish when you truly and unashamedly believe in yourself. With all of that being said, you also have to remember to keep your heart in check. Where are your intentions? Are they pure and for good? Remember that there’s a huge difference between confidence and conceitedness. Because of that, it’s essential that you’re constantly in check with your heart.
