Hey everyone!! Can you believe it’s already the week of Easter? I can’t, even though it’s later than it has been the past couple of years. Easter week is always a super busy week for me, no matter the year.
Every year, the Wednesday and Thursday leading up to Easter, I get the opportunity to judge District Fine Arts for the PennDel District. I judge all of the dance categories – from worship dance (lyrical, ballet, contemporary) to urban dance (hip-hop, step). It’s an amazing opportunity and it’s always such an honor to serve in this way. To be able to use my gift of dance to build up the next generation of dancers is a huge blessing to me. I have been judging Fine Arts for 5 years now and I’m at the point where I can’t imagine my life without it. I love it!
As the wife of a Creative Arts Pastor, you can imagine how crazy Easter time could be! Easter time is so huge for churches, so being in ministry during a time like this is very driven. While I’m unable to be physically be involved during Easter events at my church this year (keep reading to learn why), I’m still supporting and cheering on my husband to get him through all 7 services that are held throughout Easter weekend. It’s awesome craziness.
The reason why I’ll be out of town is… my sister had her baby! My sister welcomed her sweet little baby boy into the world early Tuesday morning. I was unable to be there with her, due to previous commitments, but I have the flexibility to visit back home Friday to Sunday. I can’t wait to hold the precious angel!!
I’m sure some of you are wondering why I informed you all about these events happening in my life this week. The reason why I wanted to give some background is because today I’m sharing my look for this Easter, and it’s not your typical “Easter Sunday” type outfit.
Today, I’m sharing my super comfortable yet classy outfit that I’ll be wearing this Easter. While I love to dress up on beautiful holidays like these, this year it’s more practical for me to simply be casual.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT EASTER OUTFIT FOR YOU:
1. Consider Your Activities For The Day // Like most holidays, it’s always best to plan your outfit around what you’ll be doing on that day. If you’re going to a church service, dress up a little bit. Though, more dressy casual attire is beginning to make its way as one of the go-to looks for Easter Sunday. It’s all up to you! If you’re going to spend time with the family over dinner or an Easter egg hunt, consider dressing more casual and comfortable. Let’s be real, it can be a hassle participating in an Easter egg hunt when wearing a skirt or dress.
2. Choose Springtime Colors // During Easter, it’s all about the springtime colors! It’s time to break out the pretty pastels and muted tones. Lavender, yellow, and blush are a lot of people’s go-to colors! I’m deciding to rock a light olive green, because I’m simple desperate for everything to start blooming again. Florals are also really in for Easter! You can’t go wrong with anything floral during the springtime.
3. Choose Your Accessories // While there is a time for statement necklaces and jewelry, for me, Easter is not one of those times. I’m not a huge jewelry fanatic in the first place, so wearing simple accessories are key for me. I’m wearing a dainty flower bangle! Again, anything floral or flower-related in the springtime is perfect and always appropriate!
4. Always Stay True To Yourself // Friends, always stay true to yourself. Choose your outfit based on your comfort level and your tastes, not someone else’s. Ask for advice when you need it, but if you really love an outfit, then just stick with it! It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. All that matters is that you’re comfortable in what you’re wearing.
Off the shoulder tops are some of my most favorite tops ever. I’m usually not one into trends, but I’m definitely all in for this one.
