Hey babes!! Happy Wednesday! Wow, I have so much to tell you all from this past weekend but I’m going to save most of it for Friday’s blog post. I had the opportunity to go to the College Fashion Week hosted by Her Campus and I was able to work with Ulta Beauty while I was there! It was a total dream! The event was amazing and served as such an inspiration to me. It was my first time ever going to an event like this where there were other influencers and honestly, the feeling of belonging was such a confirmation to me that what I’m doing with my blog is what I should be doing. It’s so cool. God is good!
I went into the city via bus on Friday night. It took about 3 hours to get into the city because the traffic was so crazy (Friday nights, haha)! Regardless, the ride wasn’t that bad. I spent the entire bus trip watching Pretty Little Liars. 😉 After navigating my way out of Port Authority, my good friend met me and we hopped a cab back to their place! Cabs are SO crazy! It was such a wild ride, haha. I hadn’t been in a cab for 8 years until this past weekend.
Saturday morning, we went and grabbed coffee at Cocoa Grinder in Brooklyn. It’s a newer coffee shop in that area and the aesthetic of the shop is super cute. I got a delicious chai tea latte and it was honestly one of the best ones that I’ve had. I definitely recommend them!
After that I packed up my stuff for the day and headed out to try and attempt to take photos… attempt, haha! It was a nice day on Saturday but when I was in the shade with the wind… AH! It was a hard time taking photos. Soon after that, my friend Rachel met up with me and we started getting ready for the event.
Since traveling around the city takes up time, I had taken my outfit and makeup for the night with me during the day. I ended up changing in a Target bathroom, haha! Hey, a fashion blogger has to do what she has to do!
Before the event, we had plenty of time to hang out and take some photos. Again, the wind was insane so it was a bit tough! Hence, my blowing hair in the photo above, haha. But, no matter what the weather was, I HAD to get this outfit shot because it’s definitely a new favorite of mine.
I’m all about being comfortable in whatever I wear. I wanted to go with a slightly edgy look for the event, so I knew I was going to wear black distressed skinnies and black booties, but it took me a while to find a good top to wear. I ended up finding this golden top at T.J.Maxx for like $12! Such a score. I love the twist detailing in the front. The twist detailing is so in right now, too!
I finally found some jean leggings that fit me perfectly (other than length lol)! These are some comfortable. I was shocked that I loved these because they’re low-rise jeggings and I typically go for high-rise ones. Because I’m petite and have a short torso, the low-rise jeggings actually hit right above my hips which is super comfortable.
The booties I’ve shared about before and honestly, I’m not ashamed to keep sharing about them. They are the most comfortable heeled booties I have ever owned and the fact that they’re super cute makes them even more of a win! They’re on sale for under $30 right now and are available in black in almost every size still! Definitely snag them while you can.
