Hey there, darlings! How was your weekend? I hope it was swell. For me, it was a rollercoaster, just like all last week was. Life has been discouraging lately. I feel like I’m so far away from where I want to be. It’s been really tough.
But, Saturday was a bit of a momentary breather for me. Michael and I had a friend visit for the weekend, so we went and walked around downtown Stroudsburg, PA for a little bit. We grabbed iced lattes and iced chai teas at the only authentic coffee shop around. We found a really neat record store, where I grabbed the newest Fleet Floxes album on vinyl, and then we grabbed some ice cream at the best ice cream place in town. It was truly a great early afternoon. It was much-needed.
For Saturday’s adventures, I decided to wear my new dress that I got on sale just the other day from American Eagle. This is a dress I have been eyeing up for a few weeks now, and when I saw it go on sale, I knew it was time to make it mine.
I had been seeing the keyhole and cutout dress style become popular over the past year, but I never thought I’d be someone to actually wear something like this. I saw it in stores and fell in love with the material and pattern, on top of the tasteful cutouts.
One of the best things about this dress for me is that it came in a petite size. I am a firm believer that all dresses shouldn’t come in petite sizes (and tall for my tall ladies!), because I’m super short and petite. I can’t tell you the amount of dresses that I try on that hit at my knee or below when they should really hit a few inches above my knee. Petite girl struggles.

These dresses are beyond stunning and flirty. They’re perfect for any summer day, in the park or walking around downtown.
I love a practical, but stylish crossbody purse for all of my summertime adventures. These bags are made for just that!
As soon as this dress arrived in the mail, I tried it on right away. It fit perfectly and the length was just right. I’m not typically a dress kind of girl, but this is definitely a new staple item for me. I know I’ll be getting a lot of wear from it this summer.
To complement the dress, I chose one of my crossbody purses and my strappy sandals, both in cognac. The dress is black, but the flowers in the dress are earthy tones of deep purple, blues, and cream. I loved how much the cognac helped bring all of those colors out even more.
We adventured around downtown at the perfect time of day. The weather was in the high 70s and there was a refreshing summer breeze. At first, I wasn’t going to write “summer breeze”, as that’s my first and middle name, but I decided to try to be funny, haha. I’m a weirdo!
If you’re ever in The Poconos, I encourage you to check out downtown Stroudsburg while you’re in the area. It’s so full of character. I can’t wait to visit downtown during the evening soon – it seems like it’d be so full of life.
