Happy Tuesday, my stylish friends! This past weekend I met up with some blog friends and spent the weekend at Wildwood, New Jersey. It was an absolute blast and it felt amazing to finally have gotten to the beach for the first (and last) time this summer. While I do love beach time weather, my soul is a complete lover of fall. Even though fall is my absolute favorite season, I felt it was a little bit silly to start shooting and posting for fall earlier this month. Now that my beach trip is over and September starts on Friday, I figured now is the appropriate time to start sharing some transitional fall outfits.
I love the change in weather from summer to fall. There’s just something so inviting about the comfortably warm days that ease into chilly nights. Some of my most favorite fall wardrobe pieces are the ones that I can transition well from summer to fall, like this Free People top.
At the start of the summer, I found this top online and knew I needed to make it mine. I didn’t purchase right away, because it was going to be a huge splurge for me. I’m a bargain shopper and I always love finding a good deal. It’s rare for me to purchase something that’s full-priced, especially if something’s from a high end brand. When I couldn’t get this top out of my head, I knew that I had to make it happen. And I did!
I ordered an XS, because Free People runs slightly big if you have more of a petite frame like I do. I’m glad I ordered the XS, because even that is still slightly big on me. The design is made to fit on the oversized side, which I love. The only thing I wish I could change about this top is the length of the sleeves, as they’re super long on me. Even though they’re long, I’m still in love with the top as a whole. It’s comfortable, darling, and lightweight. It’s also on sale!
Since the top is a stunning shade of white, I decided to pair it with some dark wash denim to add contrast. Believe it or not, I bought these jeans in the “short” style and I still have to cuff them, haha. It’s a good thing I like to play around with cuffed looks.
This steel blue crossbody from Fossil is my new favorite staple bag! I love the color of it and the size is just right. The straps and the body of the bag have a muted light olive green tone to them, and it looks great with the steel blue. It has great storage, too!
One of the best things about the weather starting to change is that I can break out all of my booties! Goodbye sandals, hello adorable booties! I love wearing booties because they can be dressed up or styled casually. Aren’t these ones so fun? I scored them from Tillys! These are youth sized, but I have some very similar women’s sizes linked at the end of this post.
With the weather starting to cool down here in the Poconos, I’ll be wearing outfits similar to this all of the time now. I’m beyond excited for fall to kick in full swing! I can’t wait to go apple picking and exploring nearby cities.
