I am beyond excited to share my first Julep Maven subscription box with you all! This is my first box from them and I’m already in love with their products.
I love makeup and have since as long as I can remember. My love for makeup started really young, as I was a dancer who was always having her makeup done for tons of different performances. I wear makeup because it makes me feel confident and bold! I’m not saying my confidence is found in makeup, but it does make me feel like I have an extra boost.
When my box first arrived the other day, I couldn’t wait to open it. When I unboxed it, I found that two of my favorite beauty items were inside – lipstick and nail polish!
These are the two nail polished I received. On the left is Brittany, which is a natural shade that I fell in love with right away. When I mean right away, I mean it! After unboxing, I painted my nails with this gorgeous neutral. On the right is Julep, which is a beautiful shade of purple.
I was so pleased with how fast this polish had dried on my nails. I’m also very impressed with how strong it makes my nails feel. I think my favorite thing about this shade was that I only needed one coat to get the look I wanted. I was shocked because this shade would seem like it’d take a few coats to look like what it’s supposed to. My only issue with it is that it’s already chipped after one day of use. But, that’s like most nail polishes.
When I took off the covers to these lipsticks, I was immediately captured by the colors. On the left is Happy Hour, which is a shade of magenta (shown in photo below) and on the right is Stepping Out, which is a bit of a watermelon shade. As a lady who loves her different shades of pinks and red, I was very happy with these picks!
I loved how smooth this lipstick was when I first applied it and the color was absolutely stunning. You know how some lipsticks can feel heavy on your lips? This was not like that at all! I almost forgot I was wearing lipstick because it was so light on my lips. So far I haven’t experienced any drying from these lipsticks, which has always been near impossible for me to find. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my experience stays this way since they are made with shea butter and antioxidant-rich botanical extracts for hydration.
I can definitely say that I’m going to stick around and be a Julep Maven for another box! I’m really hoping I’ll love my next box as much as I have loved this one!
