This post is in partnership with Photography.com and Horizon Worldwide. As always, I only share brands and products that I genuinely love and believe in.
Ahhh, Friday… it’s so nice to finally see you! I don’t know about you, but this week has been dragging for me. Now that I have been back from vacation and I’m in the swing of real life again, I have been focusing more on making our house our home. We still have quite the ways to go, but we’re loving the process.
Today, I want to share with you our entryway wall decor. We live in a split level home, meaning that if you walk in from the front door, you can either way up the stairs to the top level or down the stairs to the lower level. I knew that I needed to spruce up our entryway wall on the top level, as that’s typically the first area of our home that guests will see. I wanted to make it homey and welcoming, and I also wanted to let it reflect our style.
Over the past few years, I have really developed a sense of the style decor I really love. It’s a mix between mid-century modern and an earthy bohemian feel. I am all about neutrals with accents of gold and bronze thrown. I also really love different textures that keep a down-to-earth feel in a space. While I won’t achieve my dream home decor style 100% in this home, it still feels really good to finally dip my toes into the decor styles that really reflect me.
Michael and I decided to stick with grays, whites, deep navy blues, and some nude tones for our main space upstairs, in addition to the gold and bronze accents.
Michael and I have been married just over 2 and a half years now and up until this point, we didn’t have any wedding photos printed out in anyway. Life got really busy for us after we got married and all of the places we lived before this didn’t fit our taste, so we decided to wait until we bought a home to get some of our wedding photos printed.
I ended up partnering with Photography.com and received two gorgeous canvases with our wedding photos on them. The second they were delivered, I opened them! I was so excited to see the final product. When I first pulled them out of the packaging, I thought they were photographs! That’s how clear and true to the photos these canvases are. When Michael got home, he was blown away, as well.
The canvas of us in our entryway is by far one of my most favorite wedding photos. It’s simple and serene. It really captures the essence of our whole wedding day.
I am so happy that I got to put our canvases up before Valentine’s Day, because they just make our home feel so much more homey and full of love. Photography.com is currently having a Valentine’s Day sale! Get the details at the end of the post.
I went with the Museum Wrap Canvas (size: 16” x 24”) for our entryway. The Museum Wrap Canvas style is when the photo stops at the front edge of the frame. This is how canvases are displayed in museums and art galleries.
I chose to get both of the canvases in black and white, since our wedding was in June, meaning that the majority of our photos have a lot of greenery in them. I love greenery, but it doesn’t fit our space that well.
We are absolutely in love! And if you’re wondering… yes! You get to see the other canvas. The second canvas we got from Photography.com was their Gallery Wrap Canvas (size: 16′ x 24″). The Gallery Wrap Canvas style is when the entire photo is wrapped around the frame. This is my personal favorite canvas style.
The second canvas, we got for our bedroom. Our bedroom still needs a lot of work put into it, so this is all you get to see for now, haha. It’s the perfect piece of art for right above our bed. We’ll probably end up putting more wedding photos off the sides of it. We will see!
I’ll be sharing more about our home decor and room reveals on the blog soon. In a couple weeks, I’m looking forward to sharing my office reveal!
