Christmas may just be a week away but I couldn’t let this holiday season go by without documenting the kids’ play kitchen decorated for Christmas! Last month, I surprised the kids with their play kitchen all spruced up for this special time of year. They were ecstatic, to say the least!
I change up their little kitchen decor throughout the year – usually with major holidays and the changing of the seasons. It keeps things fun and fresh for them but it’s fun for me, too. It’s always exciting decorating it for them but seeing their reaction is 100% the best part of it all!
Most of the decor is pieces I’ve used in previous years, but I did grab a few new things this year. Most items like the mini garlands, the snowflakes on the wall, and the bottle brush trees are from the Dollar Tree or the Target dollar spot. Affordable and festive? Count me in!
My favorite new addition to my kids’ play kitchen for the holiday season are these adorable felt Christmas cookies! I have ordered from Oakmont Needle multiple times now for different felt pretend food and I’m always so impressed. The details and the quality of her work are unmatched. If you’re looking for felt pretend play food, especially bakery items, you have to check out her shop. 😊
I found the gingerbread boy and girl ornaments at Hobby Lobby and they were such a sweet touch! The mini cookie cutters and rolling pin were a set I found in the Target dollar spot. The red and green cooking utensils were also from Target.
I used the Mixtiles photo tiles we had with last year’s family holiday photos on them over the kids’ table. I can’t recommend Mixtiles enough if you’re renting! There’s truly no damage done to the walls and they can be removed and reapplied as desired.
My favorite bit of decor this year has to be the snowflakes scattered on the wall. I found a couple of different packs of snowflake ornaments at the Dollar Tree and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. I didn’t use the string. Instead, I used sticky tack putty to hang them on the wall. It turned out so cute!
Grandma got the kids this felt Christmas tree for the wall and they have been all about it! They can redecorate the Christmas tree as much as their hearts desire. It’s adorable! If you’re a toddler parent who’s always trying to get your kiddos away from the real Christmas tree, this is a great redirection tool. 😉
