As it’s now officially the holiday season, both Michael and I are getting busier and busier with work and holiday festivities. It is very important to us that we still get at least one date night a week, even if it’s just spending special time together at home. Since the weather has been getting colder here in Eastern Pennsylvania, one of our favorite warm meals is Marie Callender’s Pot Pies paired with Sautéed Cinnamon Apples.
Marie Callender’s Pot Pies come in a variety of flavors and sizes, which makes it easy to find something for everyone to enjoy. Michael and I are both huge fans of Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pies, because it’s a super classic dish that reminds us of his mother’s pot pies. This time we picked up two 16 oz pot pies to indulge in.
Marie Callender’s Pot Pies has the most delicious crust ever! The crust is warm and inviting, as well as flaky, which allows it to almost melt in your mouth. It tastes homemade.
Need-to-know tip: If you cover the edge of the crust with about 2 inches of aluminum foil, you will be able to keep the crust from burning.
Seriously though, this is what comfort in a golden, flaky crust looks like! When your food is warm and welcoming, it makes it even easier to cozy in with your better half and enjoy your time together.
The perfect side dish for any of Marie Callender’s Pot Pies are Sautéed Cinnamon Apples. You have plenty of time to make them while your pot pies are in the oven, which makes it a no-brainer, simple side dish!

Everything that we needed for this simple and hearty dinner was found conveniently at Walmart in the frozen entree aisle and the produce section.
After a fun time preparing dinner together, we were able enjoy it afterwards by catching up over our tasty meal. It was the perfect cozy date night at home!
