Hallelujah, it’s Friday! I’m totally in denial that it’s already April. Where is this year going?!
But, I’m glad the year is moving along because I can’t wait until life slows down at the end of May. It’s time for another First Friday celebration here at CWS! How have you been liking this new monthly series? I hope you’re enjoying.
BTW! If there’s anything if you ever want to see in this series, feel free to let me know! I’d love to try and incorporate all ideas and requests so that these posts are always useful to you.
QUESTION & ANSWER:
How do you go about finding brand sponsorships? When I first started making money blogging through sponsored opportunities, it was mainly through networks where you apply to work on certain campaigns. I still use a couple networks but I also work with brands through pitching them and having them even reach out to me. It’s a mix of things!
What was your favorite subject in high school? English or accounting. For creative subjects, I really loved ceramics class and in retrospect, I really loved band class. I played the flute.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned at this point in your life? The biggest lesson that I have learned so far is that I can’t get through life without God. God is my constant, He’s my anchor. He is always there for me through the joys and the dark struggles. I have gone through some really dark seasons in life but He has always been there to walk with me through them. It’s not always easy to reach out to Him but it’s the only way I can make it through each day. He is good and faithful.
Since you’re an INFJ and an introvert, how do you find balance and unity and alone time in your relationship? This is such a great question! One of the best parts of working from home is being able to schedule some “me” time during the day, even if it’s catching up on a show while responding to emails. When my husband gets home from work, that’s typically when I stop working for the day so that I can have time with him. I do let him have some time to himself, though. He’s worked all day so he’s going to want to unwind and watch some sports. I let him do that! On the weekends, we will do things together like grocery shopping, grab a coffee, etc. but we’ll also stay home. When we’re at home we’ll usually be spending time together in the same room, but we’ll be working on projects of our own. It’s working really well for us.
PRODUCTS I’M CURRENTLY LOVING:
UD X Kristen Leanne Beauty Beam Highlight Palette // So, typically, I’m not one who enjoys highlighting my face. I struggle with oily skin so making it shinier isn’t something that ever appealed to me, haha. Anyone understand? As I was using my birthday rewards online at Sephora, I saw that this palette was on sale for under $20 and figured with spring and summer coming up, that’d I’d give it a go. I actually really love it! I have been using the middle highlight mostly but am looking forward to trying the more bronze shades come summertime.
It’s on sale for $17! Grab it here!
IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara // I got a sample size of this mascara as my birthday reward from Ulta. I am usually very dedicated to the mascaras that I already use because they lengthen and curl my very short lashes perfectly. I have to say – this mascara fits right into my “favorite mascara stash” for sure! I use it as a “base” layer of mascara and it does an amazing job of lengthening every single lash. I’m definitely going to buy the full-size once my sample size is used up.
Kate Spade Gold Striped Thermal Mug // With all of the running around I have been doing, my Kate Spade thermal mug has been a lifesaver! It’s definitely my favorite travel mug. It keeps my coffee hot and the design of it is super cute and trendy – perfect for the springtime!
