Happy Friday, friends! I’m so glad you’re here! You’re in for a treat today. Today marks the first month of my new monthly series, “First Friday”.
I came up with the idea of having First Friday as a monthly series back in November but I wanted to wait until the new year to start the series. Then, I was on vacation the first week in January, so I decided to push it off until February. And here we are!
If you’re a regular reader of Coffee With Summer, you know that I have a monthly series of “Happenings” posts where I share what’s going on in my life, recent blog posts, and now things I’m currently (loving, eating, wishing, etc.). I just recently switched those posts up a bit and decided to add in “First Friday” posts to the monthly mix.
My First Friday posts are going to be upbeat, inspirational, and a whole mix of fun. I’ll be sharing blog posts from some of my blog friends that I’ve loved, products that I’m loving and some that I’m wishing to get, and more. The part I’m most excited about for this series is that I’ve decided to implement a Q&A section of EACH First Friday post! I love sharing Q&A posts with you, so I thought… why not do a little Q&A sesh each month?!
QUESTION & ANSWER:
What was something fun you did during your childhood? My childhood was mostly all about dance, which I loved. I’m still SO happy that it was. When I wasn’t in dance class, I would play outside with the neighborhood kids. Those memories are definitely some of the most fun ones that I have from my childhood. Basketball, manhunt at night, riding our bikes – it was a blast! I honestly wish I saw more children and teens doing the same nowadays.
What is something you do that you think is normal but everyone else thinks is strange? Ever since I was a young girl, I have always dipped my pizza crust in Coca-Cola, haha. It was (and still is) normal for me and the rest of my family. I remember the first time I was at the dining commons at college, eating pizza with my friends. I did exactly this and they all looked at me like I had 10 heads. It was pretty funny! I even got some of them on the bandwagon.
My Grampa actually was the one who influenced me to do it! A few days before Christmas this past year, my Grampa passed away after dealing with multiple health issues. But it’s comforting to me that I have nostalgic and funny memories like this to remember him by. 🙂
Where do you do most of your shopping? I do most of my clothing shopping at American Eagle, Target, and small online boutiques. I also do a ton of clothing shopping online using thredUP. I have raved about thredUP here before and I don’t think that’ll ever stop. They have listings up to 90% off retail price. It’s basically thrifting but all online! I have scored items like-new and brand new with tags still on from Free People, Urban Outfitters, Madewell, and other high-end brands. Seriously, if you haven’t signed up or tried out thredUP yet, you’ve got to.
If you use my referral link, you’ll get a FREE $10 to spend on your first order!
What camera and equipment do you use? I use a Canon 5D Mark ii. The majority of my photos are shot with a 50mm lens, but I also use a 24-70mm lens. Oh, and my blog husband comes in handy for fashion photos!
PRODUCTS I’M CURRENTLY LOVING:
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream // I know, I know. I share this product with you all of the time. But friends! It’s seriously changed my life. I have noticed such a difference in my skin since using it and every day that I use it, I’m amazed at how well it covers blemishes and evens out my skin tone. It’s full-coverage and buildable. Right now (until 3/3) you can get their brush for this CC cream for FREE with purchase of any IT Cosmetics CC Cream! This is a huge deal. HIGHLY recommend!
no!no! PRO Hair Removal System // I started using the no!no! PRO just under a month ago. I’ll be honest and say that it was tough figuring out how to use, as far as getting it to run smoothly over my skin, but once I got the hang of it, it’s been easier. It’s a long-term hair removal process that’s supposed to help reduce how often you need to use the device. It’s safe to use on your face, body, and bikini line.
Fossil’s Gen 3 Smartwatch // It’s no secret that I love Fossil. They’re by far one of my favorite brands ever and I’m honored to be one of their influencers. I just received their smartwatch last weekend and I am already obsessed with it! It’s easy to customize and set up notifications for social media, texting, email, alarm clock, calendar alerts, and more. It also has a built-in fitness tracker and is voice activated by Google, among other functions. It’s awesome.
