The New Year is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited! 2016 is definitely not one of my most favorite years of my life so far, though I am grateful for the trying experiences I have had, as they have only help me grow.
As I’m sitting here writing this, I honestly don’t know what to say about 2016 other than it was a very bumpy year. Whenever my husband and I would get back on track with life, another mishap would arise: car accident, stolen credit card information, work stress, another random bill, family issues, and tough personal situations. This entire year we’ve been feeling discouraged and beaten down, but we’ve been trying to remember that this is just a season of life and that God’s using it to make us stronger and to prepare us for what’s coming next. It’s hard to always cling to hope in times of complete despair, but truly, God will ever be our hope and our joy no matter what.

Without going into much detail, I think it’s okay to say that I am completely over 2016 and cannot wait for 2017! I have always been someone who believes that every day is a clean slate; a fresh start. Even in being someone who believes that, there’s just something sweet and refreshing about entering into a brand new year.

I don’t know what it is, but I just really feel and believe that 2017 is going to be a great year for me. I know everyone says that around this time of year, but I really do feel that I’m going to really thrive more than I ever have before in this upcoming year. This year I have really been just surviving, so I want to break out and learn how to thrive again.

Over the past few weeks I have had one word that’s been on my heart as I think about 2017. So, I decided to make it my “word of the year!” I have never been one to have a word of the year before, but I figured I’d give it a go for 2017. I wasn’t going to share my word just yet, but honestly, I’m too excited about it!
My word of the year for 2017 is going to be: BOLD.
That’s all you’re getting for now, though. 😉 I’ll explain more in detail about it the first week in January. I’m looking forward to sharing more about it and to hearing what everyone else’s word of the year is.
Alrighty dear readers, it’s that time again…time for a reader survey! The last one of the year! I cannot express how grateful I am of those who take the time to fill out my reader surveys. These surveys help to provide me with great feedback to help me make Coffee With Summer the most authentic, intentional, and inviting community ever.

If you’re a regular reader of CWS, I would love for you to review some quick disclaimers before you go filling out my survey.
- When I first started blogging, it was snippets about my faith. Now, my blog has a more refined focus: blogging/social media, self-care, style, and intentional lifestyle. I believe that I’m called to be a light through my lifestyle, which is why I aim to lead a life of authenticity, grace, and truth. I think that bloggers who write about faith all of the time are awesome. We need bloggers like that! But if a Christian who blogs (like me) doesn’t share about their faith constantly, you shouldn’t think less of them or try to tear them down because of it. Let’s all respect and love each other!
- I write sponsored content. Blogging is part of my profession. Blogging is a job for me. While yes, it’s a source of income for me, please know that everything I share that’s sponsored is 100% authentic and real. I only share brands and products with you that I already love, believe in, and support completely. If you think poorly about bloggers sharing sponsored content, then you need to read this post that I wrote – To Those Who Get Annoyed Why Bloggers Share Sponsored Content – and reevaluate your heart.
This reader survey is for the dedicated readers of Coffee With Summer who know and believe in the mission of this space. If that’s you, I’d love for you to fill out the form below! If you’d prefer to open the survey in a new tab, here’s the link to do so.
Please, remember that this survey is to be helpful to me to better understand my readers. It’s not a place to bash or write hate, it’s a place to give me actionable feedback. Thank you in advance!
Coffee With Summer is a community for those who want to be encouraged by truth, challenged by potential, and emboldened to have real conversations on how to grow authentically and intentionally.
P.S. There’s a tiny fun giveaway happening for those who fill out the survey.
