Hello, dear May. I still cannot fathom how fast this year is rolling by, but I’m learning to hustle hard and to appreciate each day as it comes to me.
I love setting goals for myself, as it’s a way for me to keep organized and together. As life keeps throwing curveballs at me, I’m learning that it’s okay to not always have a ton of goals to keep my eyes fixed on, and that it’s okay to just go with the flow of life sometimes. I still have much learning to do, but I am proud of myself for how far I have already come.
APRIL GOALS REVISITED:
BLOG GOALS:
Collaborate With More Bloggers // Due to life coming up like never before lately, I have been unable to pursue any collabs with bloggers. I do have some awesome collabs with brands coming up, though! Obviously wanting to grow in this. Email me if you have a collab idea and want to work with me!
Work Faster & Cut Out Distractions // I succeeded here! Well, not every time when it came to finishing a post, but I definitely grew in this area. One day in April I was able to sit down and hammer out THREE posts in one day! That’s usually unheard of for me. I’m hoping for more days like those in the future.
PERSONAL GOALS:
Eat Breakfast // I have not eaten breakfast every morning, but I am definitely eating more breakfast than I ever have before.
Drink More Water // When it comes to drinking more water, I was definitely off and on. I started off really great, but then ventured back to more coffee without even realizing I wasn’t drinking water. I am taking the advice of having a huge glass at my desk to sip on through my blog work, though!
Send Some Snail Mail // I’m going to say I failed here. I did send my youngest sister a care package, as she’s currently a college student up in Maine. It contained a hand-written note!
– MAY GOALS: BLOG & PERSONAL –
BLOG GOALS:
Publish More Style Posts // I am not some super fabulous chic fashion lady at all, but I do think I have a good sense of style – what looks good and what makes me feel good. I really want to incorporate more of my casual style into my blog, especially as everything is green again!
Cultivate Regular Email Newsletters // I love the idea of having a weekly email newsletter, but it’s making time to write extra content to have that become a reality. I want my email newsletter to not just be ramblings of mine, but to include exclusive behind-the-scenes that only my email subscribers will see. If you’re interested in receiving my newsletter, sign up here!
Make Business Cards // If you’re a longtime reader of CWS, I’m sure you’ve seen this goal multiple times by now. But, this is it. I WILL make business cards this month. It’s a need I have been putting off and off for way too long.
PERSONAL GOALS:
Work Out Regularly // Since the summertime weather is going to be here anytime now, I really need to get my butt in gear and work out. I am completely out of shape and am honestly ashamed that I have let myself get this bad. I’m not the gym type, so I’m going to start from scratch and train like I did when I was a competitive dancer. I’m going to start off with at least 3 times a week, and move up from there. *Please, don’t bother telling me I look great just as I am. There is nothing wrong with me wanting to better myself, my health, and my confidence.
Get Out Of The Apartment // As most of you know, I am a nanny – part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. With about a month and a half left of having my mornings and early afternoons to myself and my creative work, I want to get out of the apartment more. I struggle with depression and anxiety, and both can keep me from getting out and doing new things or doing things on my own in general. I want to pressure myself in a good way to get out and grow little by little.
This year is certainly a year of learning and living out grace. Even though I don’t feel like I am accomplishing much, I know that God is molding me into a better person with a stronger character and heart day by day.
What are some of your goals for the month of May? Let’s chat, friends!
