Hey there, friends! Oh my gosh, I feel like I have been away from my blog space all month. I can’t believe that this is only my fifth and final post of the month – things have been so fast-paced and busy! I’m glad to finally be getting settled into our new place, which means new content will be coming soon.
Since I haven’t been all that active here all month, I figured I’d do a little catch-up post before getting into the grove of a new routine.
At the start of the month, I had so many plans and goals that I jotted down, hoping that I’d accomplish at least the majority of them. Today, I’m sitting here realizing that I got almost nothing done that I wanted to, and I’m trying to have grace on myself for that. I’m not going to dive much into goals today, as I’ll be revisiting February’s and sharing my goals for March this Wednesday on the blog.
The very first week of February, My husband and I had to deal with the backend of our sites being infected with malware (a virus). It was one of the most scary situations I have had yet with my blog, as I was nervous that I’d lose my site, even though we had backups! The thought of losing everything I have been fervently working on for the past couple years really shook me. Thankfully, we didn’t lose anything! We were able to get to the root of the issue and ended up purchasing even more security for our sites. Blog friends, make sure you have proper security for your blogs. You never know what could happen.
During the first week of February, we also secured our new home, which was such a highlight after dealing with our sites’ malware issues. We’re renting a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home in the middle of the woods in a super secure gated community. It’s quaint and adorable! It’s been a huge blessing for us in many ways, but especially financially. We’re paying the same amount for this house that we were paying for our tiny, 2-bedroom apartment before. We’re beyond thankful.
The second week of February was spent packing up our old apartment, which led to almost no sleep and lots of stress (the good kind, I’d say). We got to move in on Friday, February 17th – Michael’s parents and some friends helped us move in, which was really special to us. The first morning I woke up in our new place, I looked out the window and there were tons of deer roaming through our driveway. It was magical! We’re doing well with the unpacking so far, and I’m hoping to be done with it sometime next week. We are loving having the space to finally live! Juniper (our cat) might be loving it even more than we are, haha.
As each room gets finished and decorated, I’ll be sharing updates here on the blog. For behind-the-scenes snapshots, be sure to follow Michael and I on Instagram HERE and me on Snapchat HERE!
I spent the first half of last week unpacking and getting more settled in, and then the second half I spent in Massachusetts. I drove up to Massachusetts last Thursday to help prepare for my younger sister Bethany’s baby shower. I need to say – my drive to MA is only 4 hours now, instead of 6! It was such a breeze to get home this time. I was able to take some maternity photos for Bethany and can we just acknowledge how much she’s glowing? She’s beyond stunning!
Bethany’s baby shower was an absolute success! It was an honor to help co-plan her shower alongside my dad’s wife and my youngest sister. We also scored some amazing springtime weather, which made the weekend even more of a celebration. I still can’t believe I’m going to have a nephew here in early April! Congratulations again, Bethany! He’s definitely going to be spoiled by Auntie Summer & Uncle Mike!
After my sister’s shower, I got to go out with one of my best friends from high school, Jordan. It means the world to have friends that you can pick up right where you left off, no matter how much time you’ve spent apart.
Now that I’m back in Pennsylvania after all of my running around, I’m looking forward to creating a new routine. I am still on the hunt for a job in the area, so I’m hoping I’ll lock down something very soon.
Thank you all for your patience and support through this huge transition! Coffee With Summer will be back with fresh and exciting content ASAP. 🙂
