A good night’s sleep is something that I think everyone not only needs, but wants desperately. If we don’t get a good night’s sleep, our tomorrow can be thrown off and that’s never a fun thing. Am I right? Whenever I get a perfect night’s sleep, it’s literally a piece of heaven to me, especially if it’s when Michael or I are battling allergies or a cold. Amen? Amen!
Michael and I have been married for just over a year, but in that time I have come up with a sure schedule on how to get my best night’s sleep, which helps us both get a head start on a better tomorrow.
MY BEST TIPS FOR THE BEST NIGHT’S SLEEP:
Don’t Eat 3 Hours Before Bed // Eating under 3 hours before going to sleep can disturb your body’s natural day and night cycle. Eating at night can also cause unwanted indigestion, bloatedness, and gas when you’re trying to fall asleep. These issues not only prevent you from falling asleep quickly, but they will also prevent you from truly getting a solid night’s rest. By eliminating eating 3 hours before bed, you also help yourself prepare for a lighter and more welcoming morning.
Engage In Exercise During The Day // I have found that the days I’m dancing for hours or even working out for a short time are usually the nights that I fall asleep faster. When you exercise during the day (even the lightest amount of exercise), it can help your body prepare for when you go to sleep later. This has been great, because with a good night’s rest, I feel the want to exercise more. It’s a good cycle!
Turn Off Electronics 30 Minutes Before Sleep // I know this one can be a tough one, especially in this day in age, but this is key to helping your mind unwind from the day. Setting aside your phone, laptop, and tv while you’re getting ready for bed will help your mind to be at ease easier. When I’m laying in bed scrolling through Facebook after setting my alarm, I am more apt to lay there thinking about everything I was just processing online.
Set A Schedule // One of the best things I have found successful for a better night’s sleep is setting a schedule. A sleep schedule can look different for everyone, but I try my best to be in bed around the same time every night, so that I can naturally wake up at a regular hour in the morning. Another part of setting a schedule is what I do directly before I lay down for the night. Washing my face, brushing my teeth, applying skincare, and more. Setting a sleep schedule will, over time, help your body to unwind faster, helping you to fall asleep quickly.
Use Breathe Right® Nasal Strips // Breathe Right® Nasal Strips are the best way to help with better breathing when you’re sleeping. If Michael or I are battling allergies or a cold that’s leaving us with terrible nasal congestion, Breathe Right Nasal Strips are the solution for us. Breathe Right Nasal Strips are a drug-free and clinically proven way to instantly lift your nasal passage and open your nose to help you breathe better so you can sleep better. It can be hard to get a good night’s sleep when your partner’s struggling with nighttime nasal congestion or mouth breathing. One of the best things about Breathe Right Nasal Strips is that they help relieve nasal congestion fast!
When Michael and I both sleep well, it helps us have a better tomorrow. We can go into the next day feeling refreshed and ready to go.
Breathe Right Nasal Strips are simply to apply and remove. The instructions are provided on the product packaging, as well as on their Youtube Channel.
- First wash and dry your face. Any moisture on your nose can affect how the strip sticks.
- Peel the protective liner away from the strip and line it up on your nose. The strip should be centered along the width of your nose, with the tabs on the flaring part of the nostril. Placement of the strip is key.
- Gently rub the strip on your nose to secure it in place.
All you have to do to remove the strip in the morning is to wash your face and peel it off. Washing your face helps the strip become easier to peel off, as the adhesive is loosened up. Be sure to remove by grabbing both ends of the strip at the same time and by pulling it off slowly. This helps to prevent any skin irritation.
Breathe Right Nose Strips can be conveniently found at Walmart in the Allergy Relief section. You can buy yours at Walmart!
