I love being a nanny – it’s definitely one of the greatest jobs that I could ever have. It has grown me in so many different ways and I have learned some great lessons over my last few years of being a nanny. I always love to be prepared, so it’s always important to me to have some “just in case” items in my purse at all times. The same thing goes for being a nanny!
Now that the kids I nanny for have gone back to school, it’s important for me to be prepared for the germs and illnesses that come along with the back-to-school season. I like to keep a special pouch in my purse filled with thing I may need or the kids may need when I’m at work.
ITEMS I KEEP IN MY PURSE AS A NANNY:
A Separate Pouch To Hold Everything // The majority of my purses are totes, as I can fit everything I need to inside of them, including my laptop! With such a big bag, it can be hard to keep everything organized, which is why I have a separate pouch to hold everything I need as a nanny. Being organized is convenient as it helps me to be quick when needed!
Compact First Aid Kit // Even though my nanny kids are now preteens, you never know when one of them might need a bandage to cover a cut or a sore. I love keeping this tiny little compact first aid kit on-hand, as it includes different sized bandages and gauze.
Hand Sanitizer // Alright everyone, hand sanitizer is a must to have in your purse at all times. Hand sanitizer quickly provides fresh and germ-free hands right when you need to be refreshed! We’re at the barn at least 4 days out of the school week and as you can imagine, hand sanitizer is needed more than ever there.
Antibacterial Wipes // Antibacterial wipes aren’t just great for quickly wiping your hands, but they’re perfect for any spills or messes that could occur during everyday life.
Cough Drops & Gum // I always carry gum and cough drops on me, no matter the season. Gum is great to keep your breath fresh and to yourself occupied. Cough drops are perfect to have eve if you don’t have a cough or sore throat, as sometimes your throat can simply get a tiny bit scratchy.
Hair Elastics // You’d be surprised how handy hair elastics can be for things outside of hair needs, but the most normal reason for me to have them is incase the girl forgets to bring a hair tie with her. You can never have too many hair elastics with you.
Emergen-C® Packets // Emergen-C® works wonders for me! Emergen-C® is packed with B vitamins, antioxidants (Zinc and Manganese), electrolytes plus more vitamin C than 10 oranges (based on the USDA.gov nutrient database value for a large, raw orange). My favorite part about Emergen-C® is that I can take it everyday to feel healthy. The Tangerine flavor is my favorite!
“Emerge and See. Emerge restored. Emerge replenished. Emerge Fortified*”
Emergen-C® can easily be found in the Vitamins aisle at your local Walmart. Super simple and always convenient to find!
While here in the U.S. I’m able to have a steady job as a nanny and my nanny kids get to live a full and healthy life, the women and children in Ethiopia don’t have access to the basic necessities in life, such as clean drinking water. I am so glad to be a part of Emergen-C® and charity: water’s #40Pounds Challenge! Many women and children have to travel to get water for their families everyday, while here in the U.S. we get to attend school and go to work. The photo above shows the drastic difference between the water that the children in Ethiopia have to drink compared to the clean water we have here in the U.S. The difference is absolutely devastating.
The #40Pounds Challenge is all about raising awareness of the need for clean water in Ethiopia. For every #40Pounds Challenge picture uploaded to Instagram, Emergen-C® will donate $5 to charity: water to help fund projects that bring clean, accessible water to communities in Ethiopia. How awesome is that?
All you have to do to enter in the #40Pounds Challenge is to upload your photo of you holding something that’s 40 pounds, and by tagging @EmergenC and #40Pounds in the caption.
Will you join me in the #40Pounds Challenge on Instagram? Let’s make a difference together!
