Hello, loves! It’s about time for a BUMPDATE for baby #2, don’t you think? I haven’t been blogging about this pregnancy as much as I did with my first, but I am sharing a ton through video content. If you’re not following me on INSTAGRAM and TIKTOK yet, definitely do! I share so much on those platforms that you can’t find here on the blog. 😘

SECOND TRIMESTER BUMPDATE
I am currently 21 weeks pregnant with sweet baby BOY! Yes, we’re adding a boy to our little family. We are over the moon! I took the SneakPeek early gender test at 11 weeks pregnant and got a boy result. Though, I was a bit skeptical for a few reasons! Then I opted for the NT (Nuchal Translucency) scan at 13 weeks and the tech said she was pretty sure she was seeing a boy. I saw it too, but 13 weeks is still too early to confirm 100% of the baby’s gender via ultrasound. Since the start of this pregnancy, I’ve had basically all of the same symptoms that I did with Taya, so there was still part of me that thought baby was a girl. We just had our anatomy scan at 20 weeks and YES, the baby is definitely a boy! Haha. Again, so excited!
I have my energy back (most days) which has been so encouraging and helpful to me. I have been able to be more hands-on and active with Taya and I have been able to work on content creation more. It’s been so refreshing, especially after the first trimester was such an energy sucker. My energy is back so much that I’m already really feeling the *nesting* bug hitting me, haha.
Taya is starting to understand more and more that there’s a baby in my tummy. If I ask her where the baby is, she’ll come over, pat my tummy, and then lay her head on it. 🥺 It melts my heart every single time. Before I was able to feel baby boy kick, I would use the baby doppler to hear his heartbeat every couple of days. Taya has been so intrigued by the doppler! She’s going to be such a caring big sister.
CRAVINGS/AVERSIONS: I have been crazily craving Reese’s… so much so that we bought some in bulk at Sam’s Club, haha. I haven’t really had any aversions this pregnancy.
BABY BUMP: Is bumpin’ nice and proud, haha. I swear, my stomach was flat at 13 weeks then had a clear bump at 14 weeks. Baby boy is making his presence known!
WEIGHT GAIN: I didn’t really start to gain at all until about 15 weeks, I’d say. I have gained about 9 – 10lbs so far, which is about what I gained with Taya at this point. Watching the scale go up is scary for me, but I know it means my baby is growing and on track.
MOVEMENT: I started feeling flutters at 11 weeks and kicks at 15 weeks. I have a posterior placenta this time and I’m so excited about it! It means that the placenta is attached at the back, so baby is in the front… so I’ll be able to feel and see baby boy a ton more than I did Taya. It’s crazy how much I can feel and see already this early. He is a mover!
SYMPTOMS: The only negative symptom I have is tailbone and hip discomfort. Thankfully, it’s not too terrible and the heating pad has been helping ease discomfort a ton. Overall, I am feeling really good and am finally sleeping a bit better.
That’s a wrap for now! I’ll be back with another bumpdate at the end of the second trimester!
XO,
