Oh Friday, I am SO glad to finally see you. The past two weeks have been dragging on and on for me. I think everything feels like it’s dragging along for two reasons: 1. The inconsistent weather (one day it’s freezing and the next it’s in the 40s). 2. I have been really discouraged by a lot of things lately.
Last year, I told you that I’d be changing up my “Happenings” posts a little bit. One of the ways I’m changing it up is by sharing a heart-to-heart in each monthly update. I believe that vulnerability and truth are essential to connection, so as I grow the community of CWS, I want to continue to get raw and real with you.
Life is good, but it’s also really hard lately. I came back from vacation at the start of the month feeling pumped up and ready to take on 2018. The past two weeks, though… I have been having a really hard time motivating myself. I regularly struggle with anxiety and recently depression has crawled its way back into my life, as well. It’s been really tough for me.
I have been discouraged with blogging and life. I feel as if I’m not making progress towards my goals for either. I feel stuck. I have days where I wake up feeling great and then one little thing discourages me and I find it hard to keep moving forward. One thing I’m proud of through all of this is that even though it’s been hard to keep on moving forward, I have been. I have been working hard, even though I feel down and out of the game. I keep getting back up, even though I really don’t want to. Resilience is something I’m learning in this season. It’s really neat because it ties right into my word of the year for 2018.
I may be struggling right now, but this is not forever.
If you’re in a similar season right now, keep on moving forward. One step at a time. Pick yourself up off the ground, even if you don’t want to. Please, remember that the season you’re in right now is not forever.

WISHING // I was still tan and on vacation, sipping sex on the beach cocktails and having not a care in the world.
WATCHING // Breaking Bad! Michael and I decided to start watching Breaking Bad at the start of last week and here we are, halfway through season 4, haha. It’s so good. I’m also watching The 100 on Netflix and The Bachelor. Not quite sure who I’m rooting for on The Bachelor yet, though.
EATING // Wawa mac n cheese all of the time. If you don’t have a Wawa near you, you’re missing out. It’s the best mac n cheese ever. For real.

GRATEFUL FOR // My husband. He is so good to me all of the time. When I’m feeling down and out, here’s there for me even more – encouraging me, praying for me, and running to Wawa to get me mac n cheese… I’m immensely grateful to have Michael.
SCHEDULING // A really awesome opportunity that I’ve been given for Coffee With Summer. It’s still all in the works, but I can’t wait to share the news when it’s all finalized! I’m also scheduling my super crazy life. Almost every weekend for the next few months+ are booked. It’s super awesome, but also overwhelming!
EXCITED FOR // Coffee With Summer’s new design! You may have noticed some slight changes around here recently, like my brand colors (really just one color) and fonts. I’m in the process of creating my new site design and I’m hoping to have it up sometime next week. Yay!
MAKING // DIY projects for my office and our home. I love being able to create things myself (or have Michael make them, haha) for our home. It’s cheaper than buying something already made and it helps to incorporate both of our tastes in. Michael recently made me a shelving unit for all of my nail polish!
HAPPY THAT // We finally had time to order and get our new washer and dryer installed. I feel like a whole new woman!
IGNORING // The rest of the painting we have to do on the trim in our house. All of the rooms are painted, except our downstairs bathroom that needs some love, but we still need to finish up the trim.

WEARING // These super comfortable sneakers that I got for vacation. I’m usually a converse sneakers girl, but I’m seriously obsessed with these ones now. They have arch support and a cushiony feel to them!
LISTENING TO // My brand new playlist for the 1st quarter of the year! I have a deep appreciation for music. This playlist has mostly indie rock and indie pop on it. I’d love for you to check it out and listen along with me. I’ll be adding to it throughout the quarter.
