Here we are, the last month of the year. Here’s to a warm and welcoming December! I am slightly freaking out that this year is almost over. Anyone else?
It’s kind of funny – as I referred back to last month’s goals post, I noticed that before getting into my goals that I had shared how messy the previous month was. The funny part is that almost every goals post this year has explained that about whatever the previous month was. This year has definitely been like no other in numerous ways! Needless to say, I have learned a lot and can’t wait for 2017 to get here! Fresh starts can happen every new day, but there’s something special and encouraging about knowing we have a new year ahead of us.
NOVEMBER GOALS REVISITED:
BLOG GOALS:
Hit 6,100 Followers On Instagram // SUCCESS! I can say that over the past month or so, I have really started to get a hang on what I want my Instagram to look like and sound like. I had planned to buy an Instagram course, but with all of the unfortunate events that happened a few weeks ago, I don’t know when I’ll be able to invest in it. With that being said, I am even more proud of myself that I hit this goal as I completed it 100% on my own.
Get Style Posts Back Up & Running // Success! I love being able to share my style. While I could never be just a style blogger, I do love that you all are genuinely interested in learning more about simple and intentional style. Style posts from last month: Perfect Open-Knit Sweater, Gray Cowl Neck Sweater, and Top Knots & Blanket Scarves.
Analyze My Reader Survey Results // I am still in the process of reading into all of the goods my reader survey provided for me, especially as the new year approaches.
Start Up My Email Newsletter Again // I didn’t get too much time to brainstorm ideas for my newsletter, but since most of you want me to create one, I will. At this point, I will not start sending newsletters until the new year. I want to go in with a plan and a purpose, instead of just winging it!
PERSONAL GOALS:
Get All Of My Christmas Shopping Done // I got about half done! I was hoping to have this all taken care of, but with last minute expenses, this got pushed off.
Finalize Holiday Cards & Photo // My husband and I will be taking our Christmas photo for our holiday cards sometime this week, so almost accomplished!
Have A Self-Care Night Twice // Accomplished! Michael was away on some great work opportunity trips at the start of the month, so that was the perfect time to indulge in some self-care time.
Cherish Where I’m At // Even though this month has been trial after trial, I can honestly say that I have done a good job at keeping a decent attitude about it all. I’m still learning, though.
Side note: I hosted a mug swap through CWS a little bit ago and my mug that I received from my swap buddy ended up breaking in the mail. Well, this sweet lady ended up sending me a brand new mug as a surprise in the mail. Totally made my week! Thank you again, Naomi! Go check out her beautiful DIY Lifestyle blog: My Fair Olinda.
– DECEMBER GOALS: BLOG & PERSONAL –
BLOG GOALS:
Planning For Next Year // Over the past few months I have been thinking of some goals and things I’d like to accomplish with Coffee With Summer in 2017. Now that it’s December, it’s time to really try my best to nail down some long-term and short-term goals, as well as have a general plan on how to achieve those goals.
Redesign My Blog // This was an unsaid goal of mine for last month, but with some unexpected expenses, I wasn’t able to. I’m hoping that a redesign will help me get a new and fresh focus and passion for my blog and all of the future possibilities I can have through it.
Clean Up Social Media // I want to take time to go through every social media platform and clean them up. By cleaning them up, I mainly mean having a consistent branding and voice throughout. I really have to zone in on my Pinterest, as I need to re-do some cover photos and add some new boards topics.
Find The Perfect Planner For 2017 // I know this sounds crazy but I didn’t end up using a planner this year. I tried to use a couple different ones, but none of them had exactly what I was looking for in a planner. Basically, I survived off of sticky notes, notepads, and my notes app in my phone this year! Here’s to hoping I can find the perfect planner for me.
PERSONAL GOALS:
Research Meal Planning // Food is expensive. That’s no secret! Especially if you’re trying to eat healthy. My husband and I could benefit hugely by meal planning if we do it right. We’ve tried to do it before, but couldn’t keep up with it. I think it’s time to give it a try again!
Come Up With An Exercise Plan // I love exercising, but honestly…the motivation to exercise just hasn’t been there for me at all this year. I currently weigh the most I ever have and I need to knock off about 12 pounds to be back to where I’m comfortable. So, I need to come up with an exercise plan that I will love to do, so that I can be the best version of myself possible.
Date Nights // With both my husband and I being busy and with money being tight, it’s not always easy to figure out date nights. But date nights have to be a necessity! Here’s to being intentional and setting date nights no matter what. Do you have some cheap or free date night ideas? Tell me all about them in the comments!
Reflect & Relax // While the holidays are about joy and love, they also tend to bring out stress and busyness. I want to take this month to reflect on this year and to relax in the comfort God’s always extending to me.
