Hiya! Are you as excited as I am that it’s Friday? Some of you probably started your weekend early since this weekend is Memorial Day weekend!
I hope you’re getting all geared up for your Memorial Day weekend and that you have some fun plans in store. I’m headed down to my bestie’s for most of the weekend to have a girls weekend! Some of her other friends will be joining us and I can’t wait! I have been in some serious need of #girltime lately.
If you’re a dedicated reader of CWS, you will have noticed that this is my first (and last) post of this week. I know it’s a bummer that I didn’t get any other content up on the blog this week but friends, I really needed time to focus on myself this week. Self-care is not selfish and in this season I’m in, self-care is more essential than ever.
Life has been really hard lately and without going into too much detail, it’s been extremely draining and discouraging for me. While I love sharing my life online, there are some details that need to be left unsaid. Even though that’s true, I still want to be honest when life’s hard and I’m feeling low. This isn’t for attention or pity in any way. Instead, it’s to let those who are also struggling to know that they’re not alone. I have shared openly before about how I struggle with anxiety and depression, which used to lead to other struggles. While I have overcome so much, my struggles with anxiety and depression are still very real.

It’s been quite a while since I have felt this low and with everything going on in my life, it’s been best to withdraw myself from certain things. And what I mean by withdrawing is to simply take a break from certain areas of my life. That’s why CWS was quiet this week. I needed time to focus on myself. I needed time to feel everything I have been feeling, as well as learning to reach for better feelings despite my not wanting to. I needed time to remind myself of my purpose. I needed time to just be.
This week and the past few weeks have been rough for me, but I’m feeling much better right now. Never neglect yourself and what you need. You’ve gotta nourish to flourish.

Watching… 13 Reasons Why Season 2 – I’m almost finished with it. This show is very heavy but it contains many topics that need to be discussed. I finished Grey’s Anatomy! ALL 14 seasons, haha… in 3 months. #noshame! Now I feel lost without it and I am itching for it to be fall solely so that it will come back on.
Wishing… That working out was much easier to get into. I have been on and off for weeks now and I’m really struggling to get a good routine down. I’m hoping to figure out a good flow soon!
Drinking… Bubly Sparkling Water! I have done my best to cut out soda and the only way I have been able to do this is by drinking sparkling water. I LOVE carbonation which is why I’d drink soda before. The fact that I can still get my need for carbonation and it be 0 calories is a win-win for me. My favorite Bubly flavors are Cherry & Lime! Try them out for yourself!
Snacking On… Twizzlers! I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been craving them nonstop lately.
Shocked That… It’s almost summertime. Like… where did the time go? haha! I am excited about summer, though. I am hoping I’ll have a ton of travel plans in store.
Scheduling… Possible trips for the summer! I’m planning on getting to NYC a few times and I have a few other spots I’d love to visit. I’m also keeping my fingers crossed that I can get to the Carolinas or California sometime this summer!
– WHAT I’M WEARING –
If you haven’t already noticed, I’m wearing some Memorial Day inspiration for you! I just got this top at Target the other day and I’m obsessed with it. I think the embroidery detail is just enough and isn’t over the top like some other embroidered tops. This top comes in red and white, and it was honestly super tough to choose between the two of them. Both have blue flowers in the detailing, making either color perfect for Memorial Day! It makes for the perfect last-minute pick for this weekend!
I decided to pair the top with a pair of my favorite dark blue jeans. The block heels that I’m wearing are also new. I have super small feet (size 2 in youth!) so it’s always hard to find a good heel in my size. Payless came through for me this time!
